People love watching award shows, because they want to know who's nominated and who is going to win something. I, on the other hand, love watching award shows because of the red carpet fashion. Usually there are some pretty extreme and extravagant outfits that celebrities wear to certain red carpet events. The outfits send a message to everyone watching from home, while also making a statement in the fashion world. So naturally, last night at the People's Choice Awards red carpet there were some incredible outfits.
The first bold, edgy, and feminine look was from Gwen Stefani. She wore a high- low white, strapless Vera Wang dress. This dress was dramatic on it's own, but she paired it with black over the knee boots, black gloves past her elbow, and fishnet tights. All of these paired together created a daring yet soft look with waves in her hair and a delicate necklace. The combination of the edgy and feminine is so hard to pull off, yet she did it effortlessly.
Kourtney Kardashion was another star who went for an edgier look on the red carpet. She walked the red carpet wearing a Naeem Kham suit. It was a sparkly suit that she wore with a black bra underneath. This created a sexy, risky, and edgy feel to an otherwise bulky suit. She also slicked her hair back into a tight pony tale and paired the masculine suit with sweet, and feminine silver jewelry.
Joey King was wearing a sparkly, rainbow mini dress. This was such a fun dress for her, because it was asymmetrical but still managed be flattering on her. This dress had a fun neckline, so she kept the jewelry to a minimum which was a great move on her part. They mini dress was bright, bold, and super fun colors. The sleek straight hair with the dress also added a very sweet and girly touch to her already fabulous outfit.
A surprising outfit I loved was Kelsea Ballerini's bright pink two-piece dress. I'm not usually a fan of bright and short and lots of fabric, but this time I think she pulled it off. I liked the uniqueness of her outfit, especially the color. The top of this dress was pink tulle but I dont think it was overwhelming because of the very simple bottom of the dress. The color made her look very girly and paired with light pink makeup the whole look came together.
Finally, my favorite look of the night was Zendaya. She looked absolutely stunning in a fun black dress, with bright red lipstick, and a chic top knot. The black dress was an exciting piece, because of the cutouts in the center surrounded by sparkles. The dress was one shouldered which was fun and unexpected. The dress gave her a cool, chic, put together vibe. Since the dress was relatively plain, when she paired it with bright red lipstick and a top knot, it made the entire look come together to look elegant and classy. Paired with black pointy toed Louboutin heels, Zendaya won best outfit of the night.
