8 Fashion Trends To Look For This Year

A new year means new fashion trends to look forward to! Some trends will carry over from last year, while some will be newer fashion trends. I found eight fashion trends that I like that will be coming in 2021! All these looks have been seen on designer runways for Spring and Summer lines for 2021 which means they will be huge trends this year. All of these trends can be copied very easily and are super cute!! For examples of each trend, I have included some street style pictures for how these trends have been styled. Enjoy a look into the trends of this year!

1. Oversized Blazers

This is a trend that will be carried over from 2020 into the new year. The reason this trend is so popular is because it a flattering and simple. This is a look that can easily be dressed up or dressed down and looks good on all body types. The structured look inspires confidence and is perfect for any occasion. 2. Pastel Tones

Personally, I love this trend. I think pastel colors are really pretty and look really clean when styled correctly. This is a trend that is so much easier than neon colors because pastels can be layered and worn together. This is a colorful look that is super chic. Pastels can be a fun way to add a pop of color to an outfit, or you can go all in and wear multiple colors together. This trend is simple, feminine and sleek which makes it a super fun way to incorporate color into your wardrobe.

3. Fringe Bags

This is a really simple trend that instantly elevates an outfit. Adding an accessory with so much spunk and excitement makes any outfit street style ready. This look is a little more edgy, which makes it a really fun element to add to an outfit. This accessory creates a laid back, bohemian vibe and makes an outfit feel dressed down. This is a trend that is coming back from years ago so maybe you still have a fringe bag laying around somewhere that you can dust off and use again!

4. Wide Leg Pants

This trend began in 2020, so it is no surprise that it will continue. This is a really chic trend that is flattering and easy to pull off. I love wide legged pants because they are comfortable and cute at the same time. This is a trend that works well for tall and short people which is pretty rare! This trend looks great with a more fitted top, or a top that is front tucked or fully tucked in order to create balance in the outfit. I hope this is a trend that stays for a while because it is a great one!

5. The Bold Shoulder

The strong shoulder is an awesome detail in outfits to make it just a little more chic. The cool thing about this trend, is that it creates dimension and shape in an outfit. The exaggerated shoulder makes your arms look longer and your waist look smaller because attention is drawn to your shoulders. While this trend is pretty and feminine, it also draws attention up to create a flattering and great shape on your body. This look also makes you feel more confident and powerful!

6. Sustainable Fashion

This is a trend that is going to continue to get more popular. People are leaning towards shopping in stores that create sustainable looks because it is beneficial for the environment. Consumers are starting to pay more attention to brands and are buying more from places that create sustainable clothing. Companies are going to start or continue making sustainable goods because it is better for the environment and makes consumers happier. The decision to wear sustainable fashion is one that decreases our carbon footprint on the world. Make sure the brands you love are creating sustainable products, and that is all you have to do in order to be a part of this trend!

7. Stripes

This is a trend that continues to go in and out of style. Stripes can be a really fun pattern to play with. Horizontal stripes create dimension draw the eye to where you are wearing them. Vertical stripes create a long line and make you look tall and skinny. Stripes are a great way to incorporate some color and pattern into any outfit. I think this year we will see a lot of striped dresses in different colors. Throw on a striped sweater or a striped sundress and you have mastered this trend!

8. Spring Knits

What is a spring knit? It is a knit that can be worn during a transitional season, like winter to spring. This is going to be a trend, especially as we slowly move from wearing sweats to real clothing. Spring knits are not only cute, but look polished in any outfit. The lightweight knit also can be worn in so many different ways as you transition seasons. A spring knit also looks classy and pretty which is why I think we will be seeing this trend a lot in 2021.
