Whether your style is casual, edgy, or even feminine, there is always a place in your wardrobe for leather! Leather has been huge in the fashion world forever, and continues to be a wardrobe staple- whether it's a simple leather jacket, a chic leather blazer, or an edgy leather pant. A lot of people love the look of a leather pant, but aren't quite sure when to wear something like that. Lucky for you, leather pants are actually really easy to style! They can be worn casually or dressed up! Here are a bunch of different ways you can style your leather pants while still feeling true to your style.
A Silky Top + Booties
This is a going out at night, on a date, or going to work way to style your leather pants. I love how leather and silk look together because its mixing super feminine with super edgy. Tuck a silky top into your leather pants for a really pretty and drapey look that is feminine, edgy, and put together. I would pair this with a pair of black booties or heels (or brown if your leather pants are brown), because this will elongate your legs and create one continuous line from your waist to the ground. You can throw anything over this from a chic cardigan to a blazer- just don't wear leather on leather!
A Graphic Tee + Blazer
If you ever want to dress your leather pants up for work or a daytime event, pairing leather with a blazer is always insanely chic. Throw in the graphic tee for a cool and laid back vibe. Then add heels make it look put together and professional. To dress this down a little more, you can swap out the heels for a sneaker or loafer. This makes it still look put together and professional, but takes away a little of the fancier feel.
A Button Down + Loafers
This is such an easy, yet sleek way to style leather. This look is more classy than edgy. A crisp white button down looks so good with a leather pant- especially when you half tuck it. When you do a half tuck with the button down, it makes it look clean and classy. I would pair this look with a chunky loafer. It keeps the theme of classy and preppy which helps to juxtapose the leather pant. For this look, it would look amazing to pile on a bunch of necklaces under the button down and have them peaking out. Cool, classy, and so easy to throw together!
Sweater + Chunky Boot
Leather pants are a fall/winter piece. If you have lighter leather pants you can transition them in the spring, but typically leather is best for the colder weather. That being said, when wearing your leather pants you want to be warm enough for the weather! Pair your leather pants with a bright colored sweater ( or all black would look fabulous too), and a chunky boot. It can be a boot with a lug sole and a high shaft so that it goes under the pant, or even a combat boot. This helps to dress the outfit down to make it perfect for a regular winter day!
Sweatshirt + Sneakers
The easiest way to wear your leather pants in a casual way is to treat them like a pair of jeans. Wear your leather pants with a fun graphic sweatshirt and sneakers for a cool and casual look. This look works because both the sweatshirt and the sneaker are casual, so they help make the leather pants feel dressed down. You can also transition this look when the weather isn't quite so cold, and swap a graphic sweatshirt for a normal graphic tee.
A Turtleneck + Shacket
This is one step up from a sweatshirt and sneakers. I think this is a more elevated everyday look like a sweater and boots. Throw on a tight turtleneck and tuck it into your leather pants. Then add a cute shacket over it. You can find a fun colored shacket, or keep it neutral- either way this looks put together! This look is a little bohemian mixed with edgy which is super fun. I would pair this with a casual bootie, and you are ready for the day!
Bodysuit + Jean Jacket
Another easy way to dress your leather pants down but still look cute for everyday is to add a jean jacket. Like I said before, I would never pair a leather jacket with leather pants. It will make you look like a biker! But denim with leather pants is a whole different story. The denim helps make the leather feel more everyday appropriate. Throw on an easy bodysuit under the jean jacket and you have the power to dress this look up or down! You can wear a casual bodysuit, or one thats a little more cute and it takes this look from day to night. Depending on the kind of bodysuit you choose you can wear sneakers, loafers, booties, or heels!
