Inexpensive Trends to Copy This Summer

Trends are such a huge part of fashion and if you love clothes, chances are that you have participated in one trend or another. The problem with trends is that they can be pricey. There are so many trends out there just for the summer season, and it can be hard to keep track of all the trends and not spend all your money. I collected 15 summer trends and created outfits using all inexpensive pieces!! Everything is linked, and most things are on sale or from cheaper retailers! Let me know what summer trends you are going to copy for cheap!

1. Wide Leg Pants

A trend I hope stays around for a while! So easy to throw together outfits, and the perfect summer pant because it is flowy and comfortable. Wide leg pants can be dressed down- with a comfy bodysuit and sandals, or dressed up- with a nicer top and block heels.

2. Puff Sleeves

Puff sleeves are all the rage right now, and they are such a cute detail on a top or a dress. This trend is great for people who want to show off their arms, and puff sleeves add a little more excitement into an everyday outfit. The puff sleeve detail draws attention to your neck and face so add an exciting necklace or headband with this!

Style tip: wear a bandana as a headband with this trend!

3. Pastel Colors

Out with the neons and in with the pastels! Pastels are such a dreamy way to add some color into your summer outfits. I have seen pastels everywhere this season! Pastels can be worn as a part of your outfit or as an accessory. Any color pastel works for this trend- yellow, orange, purple, pink, green, blue, etc!!

4. Retro Sneakers

This is a trend that can be hard to copy without it being expensive. My advice to copy this trend inexpensively is to find copycats of higher end items! Or, you can spend a little more on the sneakers and then save on the rest of your outfit! I love this trend because it feels very sporty and casual!

5. Crop Tops

The beauty of this summer trend is that you can wear a crop top with a high waisted jean or pant and still look put together and chic! I recommend styling a crop top with a blazer or jean jacket over it so that you can look trendy without dressing younger than your age!

6. Metallics / Sparkles

Surprisingly, this is a really easy trend to copy without breaking your budget. They are selling metallics and sparkle items pretty much everywhere! Both pieces linked are super inexpensive (like under $20!!) and can be dressed up or down. A pop of sparkle is an unexpected and exciting addition to any outfit!

7. 3-Piece Swimsuits

When I say 3 piece swimsuits I mean a top, bottom, and coverup that are all coordinated together. You can also join this trend with a one piece and a matching coverup. The idea is to make your bathing suit and coverup feel more put together and chic- like a real outfit. Super easy to mimic this trend for really cheap!

8. Mini Skirts

The trend for midi and maxi skirts comes in and out of fashion, and right now mini skirts are in. I like the look of a mini skirt with a boot to edge it up, or a loafer for a strong feminine look. A mini skirt just means short... not too short! Be classy and mindful of this style or you will look like you are trying too hard to look young!

9. Crochet

I will for sure be wearing this trend because it is perfect for those hot summer days! I am a fan of crochet shirts as well as matching crochet sets. This is a trend that is being sold everywhere because it is so popular, and is really easy to style for a laid back look!

10. Pillow bags

The ultimate accessory for this summer- the pillow bag. This is being sold at all the expensive brands which means you can easily find a dupe that is cheap and has no brand label. A pillow bag looks great in a neural color like black or white, but it can also be a cute pop of color- which also makes it feel more summery!

11. Slipper Looking Sandals

This is a trend I have been a little iffy on... until I got a pair. Now I am a huge fan of this trend! This "slipper looking sandal" also looks like a pool shoe, but boy oh boy are they comfortable. They are cushioned on the bottom so it feels like you are walking on clouds, and they bring the perfect laid back vibe to any outfit. I highly recommend this inexpensive trend!

12. Poplin

A nice lightweight fabric that is coming into trend as the summer heat approaches! I like Poplin tops if you want to look more put together and cute. Great kind of top for work!! I also like poplin shorts and jumpsuits because they feel like sweatpants while looking darling.

13. Ribbed Knits

I am loving the look of a ribbed knit in a cardigan and a sweater set. A lightweight ribbed cardigan is the perfect article of clothing to throw over anything in the summer for an extra layer. The look of a lightweight ribbed sweater set is a little bohemian and while it looks cute it feels comfortable which is a win-win!

14. Party in the Back Dresses

Personally, I think this is a really sweet and easy to copy trend. A dress that ties in the back, or has some fun detail can be found for so cheap and probably at all your favorite retailers. This is a super feminine vibe that can be casual with a pair of sneakers or dressy with heels and a pretty clutch. Wear this on a hot day so you don't need a jacket which will cover the back!

15. Polo Inspired

This is a style more for preppy people, but perfect for summer. I think this look pairs nicely with a retro sneaker, lots of beaded jewelry, and a casual jean or short. I have seen this at a ton of places so far, so get ahead of the summer trend and buy a polo inspired tee!

All of these trends can be mixed and matched together, and everything in this post was chosen very carefully for budget constraints! Comment what trends you will be copying this summer!
