Mixing Metals

One of the most fun parts about getting dressed in the morning is deciding what jewelry to wear. I personally have a couple go to pieces that I love to put on with any outfit no matter what I'm wearing. Going back and forth between silver and gold is a fun way to change things up without going above and beyond. Sometimes people are scared of mixing gold and silver, thinking that it doesn't look good or that its a fashion no no, but if it's done in the right way, mixing metals is a fun way to wear all of your favorite jewelry pieces together.

One way to mix silver and gold is rings. Wearing multiple rings in both silver and gold can look really polished and put together. If some of the rings have other colors on them it could even add a fun, playful element to the look. A way to mix gold and silver rings is to wear them stacked on one finger having silver and gold together. Wearing silver and gold rings together could be even more chic if you mix and match the different shapes and sizes of the rings. Another way to wear both silver and gold rings is wearing them on different fingers. Wear different shapes or sizes or colored gemstones on the different fingers in order to pull the whole look together.

Mixing metals can also be done in necklaces. Wearing different length chains is the best way to layer necklaces because then you can see each individual necklace and they will tangle less. Starting with a shorter chain in one metal and layering another longer chain in another metal is the chicest way to mix silver gold, even rose gold into your necklaces. You can layer as many different chain lengths as you want to, with different textures and colors so that the look is personalized to you.

This is also something that can done when you are wearing multiple bracelets. Combining the different metals, shapes, and colors, allows your wrist to catch peoples attention. Mixing gold and solver bracelets, especially with an outfit that is very simple or all back/white creates texture to the look and shows individuality. You could also catch attention by mixing the colors of your earrings. Especially if you have more than one piercing, you can start in the first hole with a dangly silver or gold fun earring and then mix the colors in the other holes. This is an easy and fun way to create a put together look without trying too hard.
