My New Favorite Leggings

I don't know about you, but my off duty look is usually leggings. I have a bunch of pairs, but my favorite ones are my Lululemon leggings. The only thing I don't like about my Lululemon leggings are the price. So when I heard about a legging that is exactly like Lululemon for half the price I was intrigued. They were out of my size for a while, but I finally ordered them and I have been hooked since they arrived.

The leggings are the Aerie Real Me High Waisted Crossover Legging. Let me preface this post by saying that the reason I love my Lululemon leggings so much are that they are soft, comfortable, and not see through. They're my only leggings I wear to workout. So the real test of these new leggings getting so much hype, was working out and wearing them around to see if they really could be as good as Lululemon for half the price. Here is the outcome.

The Fabric

As soon as I took the Aerie leggings out of the package, I was shocked. They are so incredibly buttery soft. They feel exactly like Lululemon. Not only are they silky smooth, but they are super lightweight. Even though they're super soft and lightweight, they don't collect fuzz on them. Not only are they crazy comfortable, but they are breathable and sweat wicking when you workout. That means these leggings are great for a casual day or working out- a two for one! An added bonus is that the fabric lays really nicely and doesn't slide down on your waist.

Squat Tested

One of the most annoying things about leggings is when you get a pair you love and then realize they're a little see through when you bend over and move around. I can say without a doubt that these leggings pass the squat test and are not see through when you bend over. That being said, I probably wouldn't test it out and wear a neon color underneath. So not only can you wear a shorter top and not have to worry about your tush hanging out, but you can bend over and squat during workouts and feel confident and comfortable.

The Look

I am obsessed with how these leggings look on. First of all, they have the cutest little crossover of fabric in the front of the waistband. This means they are crazy flattering on and help make your waist look smaller than it is! The other aspect of fit that I love is the length. I am super tiny (5 foot) so finding leggings that have the right length can be tricky. These leggings are high waisted and the length is 7/8. For taller people this would be cropped, but for me that means these hit perfectly at my ankle. No need to bunch them up or roll them under to hit at the right place!

The Price

These leggings are half the price of Lululemon, and in my opinion a lot softer. They also go on sale all the time which is great! That being said, I am not sure how the leggings will stand the test of time yet. I think they feel way more expensive than they are, so even if they don't last for years I'd still invest in another pair. That's how good they are.

The Outcome

Based on all this, it's safe to say these are my new favorite leggings. They are crazy comfortable- they literally feel like wearing sweatpants. They are super easy to get on and off. They hug you in all the right places. They don't slide down. And most importantly, they make you feel really confident. I recommend these leggings for working out and just to have for life.
