I don't know about you, but I am thrilled about the weather finally starting to get warmer. While I absolutely love boots, I am ready for the transition into warmer weather! Warm weather means new and exciting shoe trends for the season. That being said, you can totally still wear your boots now and even into the summer- I love a combat boot with a dress. There are some new footwear trends I have been seeing a lot lately, and I am all for them because a lot of them are timeless instead of "trendy". They are all about comfort, which could be a result of the pandemic and reemerging into the real world. So, here are some shoe trends that are great for spring!
Comfortable Sandals
I have been seeing these EVERYWHERE and I personally think they're so cute. I love that you can dress these up or down really easily, and they look really chic. There are a ton of designer brands that are making these right now, like Chanel, but they are also making versions that aren't expensive that don't look cheap. Perfect for spring and summer with shorts, jeans, dresses, and even slacks. I love that a comfortable sandal is so on trend for the new season!
High Top Sneakers
I really love a good high top sneaker. There is something really cool about pairing a high top sneaker with any outfit. Even a suit- so sleek! The trends have been all about low sneakers recently, so it's a fun change of pace to see high tops. I especially love a platform high top. This is a great investment shoe because you can wear sneakers all year (except maybe in 6 feet of snow). This is a style shoe I was missing from my closet that I will get so much use out of!
Flats
Ballet flats have come and gone a lot in the last 10 years, but I truly think a good flat is timeless. Especially in a neutral color. Flats are a great shoe for any occasion. You can wear them casually, to work, or to an event. Flats are a must have basic shoe to have if your style is preppy or classic. And a really great option that is comfortable without the casual feel of a sneaker. I still have some flats in my wardrobe that I will never get rid of and will have to start working into my outfits again!
Loafers
This is a trend that is still around from last year. I still love loafers and there are so many different styles, shapes, and colors. I am still a big fan of a platform loafer, especially because I'm short and it gives me a little height! Loafers are very similar to a flat, so if you aren't a flat person I recommend having a pair of loafers in your wardrobe. Now that I am working and having to wear more adult outfits, loafers are a fabulous piece to work in. And they're perfect for my job when I go to client's houses and can easily slip my shoes on and off!
Platform Heels
This is the only shoe on the list that doesn't exactly scream comfortable. Although these are more dressy and not the shoe to wear to walk around or stand for long periods of time, a platform is one of the comfiest kinds of heels you can wear. This shoe works really well with the longer length of pants. And wearing a long pant with this shoe makes your legs look a mile long. If you are in the market for a new heel, these are super elongating and pretty.
