Summer Shoes

Shoes make or break an outfit so it's important to make sure you are in the loop for all the trends of the current season. I'm not a trend follower really, I usually just follow what I like or don't like. These are all shoes I own, or have been seeing everywhere that I am really into for summer. I chose some classic, easy, and stylish shoes that I have been seeing that are more fun and cute than a normal flip flop or white sneaker (which are timeless). All of these would be great for work or play, and all of these can be styled in a ton of different ways. Which of these styles of shoe is your favorite for summer?

1. Slide Sandals

This is an easy, breezy, comfortable shoe that is perfect for summer. They're the perfect shoe to throw on with every outfit while still looking finished and put together. I love these sandals in a neutral because they will go with every outfit, but I also think they're really fun in a color and the perfect way to add some interest into any outfit. Slides like these look really cute with jeans or shorts and a tee to dress them down. They also look good really feminine and chic with a dress and jean jacket. The perfect shoe to wear to work, on a date, or even to run errands!

2. Loafers

I love the look of a really chic loafer. This is the perfect shoe for work or if you have a more classic style. Neutral loafers are really easy to throw on while still looking professional but fashionable. I'm also into the look of a pattern or metallic loafer because they are so fun! Adding the pattern, color, or metallic is whimsical and cute while adding a little excitement to your outfit. Loafers are a classic shoe but still modern and young looking. I love how chic a loafer looks with a monochrome outfit, or with jeans and a tee. Loving a loafer for this season!

3. Platform Sneakers

You can never go wrong with a white sneaker, but adding a platform is a new and exciting way to wear a sneaker. I love how a platform sneaker looks with jean shorts and a simple tee. The platform creates the look that your legs are insanely long, which is a glorious thing. A platform sneakers is also a more fashion sneaker than a casual white sneaker. These sneakers are cute and comfortable, but are also really stylish. Platform sneakers are a great summer shoe and great everyday option!

4. Wedges/ Chunky Heels

A block heel sandal is all the rage this year, but I am also loving the look of a chunky heel. The block heel and wedge sandals both work in a similar way because they are both trying to draw attention to your shoe. I think a chunky heel and wedge sandal are great for dresses, especially maxi dresses because they give you more height. I also think a chunky sandal is perfect for a wider leg jean or trouser because the chunky bottom is a juxtaposition to the wide leg pant and draws attention down which makes you look longer. Heels are a great way to make any outfit look a little more girly and feminine.

5. Lightweight Mules

I don't know about you, but I am a huge fan of mules. I wear mules at least a few times a week during the summer. Mules are great, especially for those hot summer days, because they allow your foot to breathe without exposing your whole foot like a sandal. I love the lightweight feel of a floral for summer as well or a color, like blue. White is also a classic and crochet is simple but cute. I am also loving the look of a pointy toed mule because it is elongating. Mules are a great work shoe, but also cute for everyday life! They are super fashion forward and look good with just about anything! The perfect summer shoe if you want to look put together and chic at all times!
