What I Wore to a Black Tie Wedding

Today on the blog, I wanna talk about what to wear to a wedding that during those freezing winter months. I went to a wedding this weekend in Cleveland where it was very chilly outside. The wedding was black tie optional which meant that I had wear a super fancy dress, even though it was cold outside.

When attending the rehearsal dinner of the wedding, I wanted to make sure I was dressed appropriately for the occasion but also for the weather. The rehearsal dinner was at a restaurant in downtown Cleveland so it called for a nicer outfit than just jeans and a sweater. For this occasion, I paired a velvet mauve jumpsuit with a flower embroidered leather jacket. This was a fun outfit that was totally weather appropriate because of the leather jacket, but also looked cute. I wore open toed heels with the jumpsuit and the shoes

pulled the entire outfit together. I paired this with simple silver hooped earrings.

For the actual wedding, it was at a nice hotel in the city and was black tie. This super fancy dress code was fun because it was a chance to get all dressed up. I decided to wear a long black dress with pleats on it that was ankle length, with strappy black heels. Since it was cold out, I wore a simple black pashmina. In order to make my black dress a little more exciting, I wore two super sparkly, chunky bracelets. In addition to the bracelets, I wore edgy earrings with pearls, sparkles, and chains all incorporated into one to make my look more chic and fun.

Overall, it was not as difficult as I imagined it would be, to dress for a wedding in the cold weather. The leather jacket for Friday night was a simple way to add a fun aspect to the outfit while also keeping me warm. For the actual wedding, most of it was indoors, so the pashmina was perfect for the event. Sometimes, it's fun to get dressed up fancy-even if it is in the cold weather.
