What to Wear on New Year's Eve

New years this year is a little all over the place for everyone. Some people are still going out, some people are celebrating with friends, and some people are just staying home. No matter what your plans for this year, you still need a killer outfit to enter the new year in! I came up with outfits ideas that are appropriate for anything you might end up doing- from a glamorous party to watching movies on the couch. Here are 5 ideas for what to wear on NYE!
A Fabulous Party
If you are going out and partying it up at a club, or going to a fancy party this is the look for you. A little feminine and a little edgy. For a special occasion like NYE, I am always a fan of velvet. This velvet mini dress (or any velvet dress) would look incredible with a tall heeled bootie. This makes it a little edgy, and adding a print to the boot makes the look more interesting. As always, accessories make the clothes into an outfit, so adding some glitzy pieces like a chunky necklace and bag help dress this look up to make it New Years Eve appropriate! I also love the idea of adding a headband for a super feminine take on this look!!
Going Out
While outfit idea number 1 is great for a fancy party or clubbing, I think of this look as a step down from that. Maybe going out to the bars or even a party that isn't quite so glamorous. The sequin dress is what makes this look feel fun and festive for the holiday. The fun part of this look, is that you can totally dress down the outfit with a jacket and shoes. Adding an oversized leather jacket adds a laid back vibe to the look, and throwing on tights and combat boots takes this look from fancy to super cool and edgy. The cute bag helps balance the look out to still feel special for a fun night out.

Home or Out
This is a look that would totally be appropriate for a friends party or to go out to the bars in. The leather pants make this a little more elevated than jeans and add a touch of excitement to the outfit. There is nothing more chic than an oversized blazer, so adding it over a strapless top is flirty and fun. Adding in the girly accessories helps make this look feel more put together and polished. This outfit is so fabulous and special for the night, but still is cool, polished, and chic. Add a bootie for a little height, and you are ready for anything in this outfit!
Casual at Home
If you are just staying home and hanging out with friends or family, this is a great look for you! It's super casual and comfortable, but still feels fun and festive to bring in the new year. You can NEVER go wrong with a tank and a cardigan, and the fun little stars on this cardigan are what make it perfect for NYE. Throw on a chain necklace to feel more put together and you have the perfect outfit for staying home!! You can really wear any shoes with this look, but a loafer helps make it casual and elevated at the same time. A perfect look for staying at home while still feeling cute!
Lounging on the Couch
Let's be honest- sometimes for NYE the best way to celebrate is just laying on the couch in your comfiest clothes! This is the perfect look if there's no way you are getting dressed up. Sweatpants that are super cozy but still cute, a graphic sweatshirt, and your comfiest slippers are perfect for watching movies all night and staying in. If you still want to feel a little cute you can add a cute scarf in your hair- tie it to your ponytail or braid and call it a night! This is the perfect outfit to lounge around in at home!
